Perry Younger, MD

Dr. Perry Younger, born in the Chicago suburb of Niles, moved to Minnesota with his family where he grew up in Plymouth.  He attended college in Bloomington, IN, where he obtained a degree with Honors in Biology with a minor in Psychology.  Dr. Younger then moved back north to Minnesota where he earned a Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Minnesota-Minneapolis.  From there he was drawn by his elder brother to Pittsburgh where he completed a Transitional Internship Year from the Mercy Hospital of Pittsburgh.  Heading south, Dr. Perry finished his training at the Combined Program in Ophthalmology at the University of Alabama-Birmingham.  Once again, he made the Pittsburgh area his home with time spent at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine as an Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology in the early 2000’s.

Dr. Younger practices true Comprehensive Ophthalmology with treatment of eye conditions ranging from cataract, glaucoma, dry eye, various eyelid disorders, and macular degeneration.  He has practiced in a wide array of practice settings giving him broad exposure to various disease states across all cultures and demographics found in the United States.  He has lectured several times in India on a variety of topics in Ophthalmology.  In his free time, he enjoys mountain and road biking, birding, and studying to become fluent in German.
